Capçanes "La nit de les garnatxes: Slate"

We love it when winemakers experiment with different soils - same grape, same winemaking techniques, but different parcels of land.  This is Capçanes experiment with 100% Garnacha in slate soils.  "The Licorella rock is formed in a high temperature, high pressure environment, deep within the earth's crust, becoming laminated during the formation process.  The licorella slate is in close contact with the roots."  Aged 4 months in new French oak barrels.  Soft filtering.  Montsant, Spain
